Five 'Bears named All-North Region in D3football

Five members of the Ohio Northern football team were named All-North Region for 2015 in voting conducted by D3football.com.

Seniors Justin Magazine and Devon Price and junior Reed Allen were First Team selections, senior Rody Seballos was a Second Team pick and sophomore Zach Schmerge was a Third Team honoree.

Magazine, Price and Allen are now on the All-America ballot.

All five Polar Bears were named First Team All-Ohio Athletic Conference earlier this season.

Magazine is also a two-time All-OAC honoree.

He leads the OAC in rushing this season with 1,558 yards and 25 touchdowns on 281 attempts.

Magazine broke ONU single-season records with 28 touchdowns, 25 rushing touchdowns and 168 points.

In 34 career games, he ranks sixth all-time in ONU history with 2,991 rushing yards and is second all-time with 276 points.

Price is a three-time All-OAC honoree.

He leads the OAC this season with 89 receptions for 1,217 yards to go with six touchdowns.

Price is ONU's all-time career leader with 244 receptions and 3,201 yards. He also is tops all-time at ONU with 76 kickoff returns for 1,868 yards and is second with 5,539 all-purpose yards.

Allen was named First Team All-North Region and First Team All-OAC as a kick returner, but is also a standout receiver for the Polar Bears.

This season, he has 30 kickoff returns for 632 yards and a 91-yard touchdown and is averaging 21.1 yards per return.

He also has 16 punt returns for 121 yards, has caught 30 passes for 599 yards and five touchdowns and has 1,355 all-purpose yards.

In his 26-game career, Allen has 56 receptions for 1,121 yards and 13 TDs and has 1,877 all-purpose yards.

Seballos is also a two-time Academic All-Conference honoree.

He has played in 34 career games with 32 starts at left tackle.

He is making his first appearance on the All-OAC and All-North Region squads.

Schmerge led the Polar Bears in tackles as a middle linebacker with 123 in his first season as a starter.

He also has 6.5 tackles for loss and a half a sack.

Schmerge was named the OAC Defensive Player of the Week twice this season, registering a career-high 18 tackles against Utica (N.Y.) and Heidelberg in September.

The Polar Bears posted a 9-3 record, finished second in the OAC with a 7-2 mark and advanced to the Second Round of the NCAA III Playoffs in 2015 under 12th-year head coach Dean Paul.
