Teams from ONU, Liberty Bank, and Tom Simmons among winners at golf scramble

The Hardin Alliance Golf Scramble was held Aug. 14,  at Veterans Memorial Park Golf Course, Kenton. This year 28 teams and 112 golfers participated splitting cash prizes with individual contests, Nationwide Children's Championship tickets, merchandise raffles, and many other prizes. Next year's outing will be Aug. 12, 2016.

The competition was awesome again, but the Valicor Team of Todd Pees, Scott Merideth, Matt Reed and John Murray posted a 57 to take the first place low gross prize. Figuring in handicap compensations, the Superior Federal Credit Union Team of Gloria Dunahue, Kurt Neeper, Matt Otto, and Drew Kantonen claimed the first place low net prize with a 51.7.  Each team won $400.

Second place low gross and net, winning $200 each were the teams of:
Low gross: Hancock County Alliance Team, Tony Iriti, Tim Mayle, Rachel Latta, and JJ Preston. Low net: Charter Realty Team: Jeff Buroker, Walt Buroker, Ben Buroker, and Doug Roberts.

Third place honors, winning $100 each were:
Low gross: Liberty National Bank Team: Nanette Pfeiffer, Brian McCune, Doug Stemble, and Bill Hart. Low net: Ohio Northern University Team: Tom Simmons, Ed Simmons, Jerry Simmons, and Allen Conley

Twenty-eight teams, 112 golfers were present for the perfect day.

Contest competitions were awarded to the following winners:  Longest Drive competitions, Kevin Rickenbacher and Chris Wedding; 2nd Longest Drive competitions, Brian McCune and Nanette Pfeiffer; both Longest Putt competitions were won by Gary Fry; Closest to the pin competitions, Kenny Day and Jayson Wolshire;  Closest to the pin 2nd shot competitions, Rex Good and Dusty Wilcox. All participants received gift bags and a catered meal to finish out the day.

The winner of the 50/50 drawing, taking home $325 was Tom Simmons.
