The Pawsitive Attitudes 4-H Club held their second business meeting recently at the Alger Public Library. Pledges were led by Katherine Moore and Abigail Osborne, followed by roll call. Secretary, Ruth Anne Osborne, asked each member to answer roll call by stating the name of their favorite breed of dog. All 13 members were present along with Advisor, Mrs. Amyial Brown and three guests.
President Catherine Osborne opened the meeting with a discussion regarding the purchase of a 4-H flag. All members voted to look into the possibility of getting a flag for the club. Treasurer Marshall Benson was asked to research the cost of a flag and inform the club whether or not they could afford one at the next meeting.
The club then discussed using their dogs as “working dogs” this summer to visit nursing homes and participate in the Ruff Readers program at the Alger Public Library. Several families signed up to attend each opportunity with their dogs.
Katherine Moore volunteered to bring refreshments to the next business meeting on Tuesday, June 2, 2015, 6:00 pm at the Alger Public Library. Catherine, Abigail, Jonathan and Ruth Anne Osborne volunteered to present their posters at the next meeting, also. Meeting was adjourned with club members socializing while making club T-Shirts.
Thanks, again, to the Alger Public Library for the use of their wonderful facility.
