Wild Turkeys
Turkeys are rebounding in this area and in all of Ohio for that matter. Last year hunters took more than 16,000 gobblers in Ohio. April is the month when the toms strut their stuff, a natural phenomenon called "The Show." So, if you are a birder or hunter you may want to catch a glimpse of of "The Show" in a woods or field near you during breeding season. This year's turkey hunting season in Ohio extends from April 20 to May 17.

Want to Buy Farmland?
How much is farmland worth? In northwest Ohio most land sells for $5,700 to $8,000 an acre nowadays. The top 15% of cropland goes for between $7,000 to $9,800 an acre. Agriculture is big business in Hardin County.
Liberty Conservation Club
The club's next chicken/fish fry will be held from 4:30 to 7:30 pm on Saturday, April 11 (starts a little earlier and lasts a little later than most frys). More than 100 diners usually show up each month for the all-you-can-eat spread. Cost is $8 plus drink. You don't have to be a member to enjoy the food. Most profits go to buy fish and award prizes at the club's annual fish derby held in mid-May.
