Rodney L. Hollon, 61, died on Tuesday, March 10, 2015, at 12:05 a.m.at his residence in Alger.
He was born on Jan. 17, 1954, in Lima, Ohio to James A. and Eva Jean (Hall) Hollon and they preceded him in death. Rodney was previously married to Debbie Hollon and she survives in Belle Center, Ohio.
He retired from Rockwell International in 2009 after working for 35 years as a machinist. He was attending the Quickstep Pentecostal Church of God, Alger. He was a 1972 graduate of Upper Scioto Valley High School. Rodney was an avid dirt track fan and his son’s crew chief for 12 years. Surviving is a son, David L. (Aubrey Yochum) Hollon of Alger; a grandson, Rylan Hollon; two brothers: James E. “Jim” (Nancy) Hollon and Jeff (Cindy) Hollon both of Alger; three sisters: Phyllis (Keith) Bays of Pierceton, IN, Joyce Rowe of Alger and Sharon (Dale) Fall of McGuffey.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Debbie Hollon and a brother-in-law, Herb Rowe.
Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 13, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Alger with his brother, Jim Hollon officiating. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger.
Friends may call from 5 – 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 12, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Alger and until time of service on Friday at the funeral home.
