Visitation Thursday, funeral Friday for Carla Dysert

Carla M. Dysert of Ada, 56, died at 8:42  a.m. on Monday, Nov. 17, 2014, in an auto accident.

She was born on June 25, 1958, to Carl and Donna (Briggs) Nazor in Shelby, Ohio. Her father preceded her in death and her mother survives in Mansfield, Ohio. She attended high school at Shelby High School. She went on to attend Eastern Baptist College in Philadelphia, Pa.

On Aug. 26, 1977, she married Greg Dysert who survives in Ada.

Also surviving are two daughters and one son: Heather Dysert (West Paar) Long Island, N.Y., Brooke Carter (Jason) Hilliard, Ohio, and Zac Dysert Denver, Colo.

She is also survived by granddaughters: Lilah Rose Carter and Lucy Grace Carter. Four brothers and one sister: Kurt Nazor of Old Town, Fla., Calvin Nazor of Shelby, Carson Nazor of Shelby, Cameron Nazor (Josh, Bonnie, and Matthew) Great Barrington, Mass., and Carlisa Van Auker of Mansfield (Saylor and Ella).

Also surviving are her mother-in-law, Priscilla Ochier of Ada; a brother-in-law, Ken (Bridgette) Dysert of Ada; two nieces and one nephew: Kendra Dysert, Kara Dysert and Brandon Dysert; great nephew, Kamdyn.

She  was director of Primrose Retirement Center, Lima, and was a member of Lima Baptist Temple.

She was instrumental in forming the group “Elderberries," a women's group who want to live out the biblical commandment of “Love Thy Neighbor as Thy self.” This group meets monthly to encourage one another and to share ways to outreach their faith in Christ to others and to help society in any other way they can.

She was an avid journalist and photographer. In her journals about her family and friends, she would always include scriptures that had been particularly helpful to her. 

Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 21, at Lima Baptist Temple, 982 Bower Road, Lima, with Rev. Al Elmore officiating. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger.

Friends may call on Thursday, Nov. 20, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
