Alice J. Irwin Wood, 92, died on Monday, Nov. 17, 2014 at 10:34 a.m. at her residence in Centerville, Ohio.
She was born on Oct. 1, 1922 in Ada to Paul and Jessie (Norris) Klingler and they preceded her in death. Alice married James Irwin on May 23, 1943, and he died on Nov. 25, 1952. She later married on June 15, 1991 Robert Wood and he died on Dec. 30, 1991.
Alice retired from Ohio Northern University, Ada where she worked as a secretary. She formerly worked for Hindall & Sons.
Surviving is a daughter, Janice Ryan of Centerville; three grandchildren: Mark (Laura) Ryan of Centerville, Andrew (Jen) Irwin of Milwaukee, Wisc., and Alex (Caroline) Irwin of Oakwood; five great grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Lynne Irwin of Oakwood.
She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Irwin who died on Oct. 10, 2001; a sister, Joan Klingler Lay.
Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 20, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada with Ron Weirauch officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ada.
Friends may call on three hours prior to the service on Thursday, Nov. 20, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada.
