As you may have seen in your September water bill, the village will once again be conducting leaf pick up this fall. The first scheduled date of pick up is Monday, Nov. 3.
If you would like to have the village pick up your leaves, below are a few guidelines that you are asked to follow:
• Please rake leaves only to the tree lawn area the day prior to your scheduled pick up. If there is debris or any material other than leaves in the piles, the village will not pick up your leaves, and you will be responsible for disposing of the leaves and debris. Debris could include, but is not limited to, tree branches, twigs and yard waste.
In previous years, non leaf material that has been in the leaf piles has caused substantial damage to the leaf machine. Such damage not only results in costly repairs to the equipment, it also causes the leaf pick up schedule to be delayed.
• You may also bag your leaves for pick up by the village. Please call the Water Office to let us know that you have bags, and the number of bags you have for pick up.
• Garbage and recycling totes need to be removed from the tree lawn area immediately after they have been emptied on refuse pick up days.
• Vehicles need to be temporarily moved from on street parking on the days that leaves are being picked up along your street.
A map of the village pick up schedule was mailed with September water bills. The insert is also available in the Water Office, and online as a pdf on the Village website, www.adaoh.org.
The village provides this service, in part, to help keep our streets, sewers and catch basins clear of additional debris. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
Leaf pick up season normally runs through the end of November, giving you plenty of time to jump in a pile of leaves before you rake them to the tree lawn.
