Ohio Northern University will dedicate its newly renovated track and field and soccer complex as “Kerscher Stadium” prior to the ONU men’s soccer game against Case Western University on Saturday, Sept. 20, at approximately 6:45 p.m.
The stadium is named in honor of Dr. Robert Kerscher and his wife, Barbara Kerscher. Dr. Robert Kerscher, a member of the Board of Trustees of ONU, is the founder, retired chairman and chief executive officer of Lexi-Comp Inc., an Ohio-based medical publisher. Robert Kerscher earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Ohio Northern in 1970 and his MBA from Baldwin-Wallace College in 1978. Barbara Kerscher is a graduate of Bowling Green State University, and the couple has three children and five grandchildren. The Kerschers reside in Hudson, Ohio.
ONU President Daniel A. DiBiasio said, “We are proud and honored to dedicate this new facility to the Kerschers, who are lifelong supporters of ONU athletics. The Kerschers’ devotion throughout the years to the University is a tribute to their generosity in the past. This most recent gift will make an impact on Polar Bears for years to come.”
The remodeled facility saw the installation of lights, a new scoreboard, artificial turf and a resurfaced track this year. Both the men’s and women’s soccer teams will play on the turf field inside the track and have greater access to facilities located at Dial-Roberson Stadium.
