Funeral service for Marzell Burrell, 100, on Sept. 4
Marzell Burrell, 100, died Thursday, September 4, 2014 at 4:45 a.m. at Hardin Memorial Hospital, Kenton. She was born on October 3, 1913 in Adamsville, Ala. to William Walter and Molly (Turner) Eaton. On January 3, 1930 she married Floyd J. Burrell and he died on February 28, 1979.
Marzell was a homemaker. She was a member of the Church of God in Alabama and she attended the Alger First United Methodist Church. Surviving are a son, Charles (Leona) Burrell of Lima; a daughter, Myra (Gerald) (Maidlow) Wood of Valdosta, Ga.; nine grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Doris LeGette; three grandchildren: Karen (Maidlow) Bellamy, David Burrell and Steve Burrell; two brothers: Fred Eaton and Wilson Eaton; and two half sisters: Pauline Higgins and Willie Morrow.
Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Alger, with Rev. Calvin Waugh officiating. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger.
Friends may call two hours prior to the service beginning at 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Alger.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Home Missions, care of Alger First United Methodist Church.
