Women's Golf ends Fall season with fourth place finish at Indiana U.-East Classic

The Ohio Northern women's golf team ended its 2012 Fall schedule with a fourth place finish at the Indiana U.-East Waterfront Classic Thursday afternoon at the Harbor Links Golf Course.

The Polar Bears will head to their winter break with a 14-18 record.

Northern finished with 404 strokes to finish fourth out of six teams on the par 72, 5905-yard course.

Ursuline won the team title with a 354, Urbana was second with a 375 and Northwestern Ohio was third with a 383.

Sophomore Megan Conley led the Polar Bears by tying for 11th out of 35 golfers with a 97.

It’s Ada Day at Miami on Friday, Nov. 23. Miami plays Ball State in football and the game time is yet to be announced.

A charter roundtrip bus fare from Ada is $30. A minimum of 50 seats must be reserved and paid for by Nov. 5.

Reserved seats for the game are $10 each. Tickets are to be paid by credit card. For tickets contact Daniel Clark at 513-529-1743. Leave a voice message if no answer.

Zac Dysert hooded sweatshirts are available for fans going to the game or for any fan. The sweatshirts may be ordered at Community Health Professionals for $20 each. Orders must be received by Nov. 5. Call 419-634-7443 to order.

Kiwanis Club spaghetti dinner Nov. 15

The Ada Kiwanis Club 2012 spaghetti dinner is from 4:30 to 7 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 15, at the Ada VFW, 2147 State Route 235, Ada.

The menu includes:

• Spaghetti
• Salad
• Garlic bread

Tickets are $6 per person with children 10 and under no charge. Tickets may be purchased from any Kiwanis member or at the door.

Ada Kiwanis Halloween parade Oct. 29 - judging categories include: Prettiest, Scariest and Most Original

The Ada Kiwanis Halloween parade details were announced today. This year’s parade is Monday, Oct. 29, behind the Municipal Building on Buckeye Street. Registration begins at 5:15 p.m. and the parade at 6 p.m.

Costume categories are:
• Prettiest
• Scariest
• Most original

Costume judging by age groups follow:
• Preschool and kindergarten
• First and second grades
• Third and fourth grades
• Fifth and sixth grades
• Groups – any age and pets
• Adults (most original only)
• Ada band

Bulldogs pull off Homecoming game win over Knights despite impeding weather conditions

Last Friday night, the Ada Bulldogs faced what many considered to be their first challenge of the season against the playoff bid hopeful Crestview Knights in a Homecoming game hampered by nasty weather and less than ideal field conditions.

Nonetheless, the Bulldogs were able to pull away with a glorious 26-21 victory in the closing minutes of the thrilling barn burner, putting the Bulldogs at 7-0 (5-0 NWC) and the Knights at 3-4 (1-4 NWC).
