April 3 Warhammer 40K event

Whatever Cards & Games, LLC, 113 N. Main, Ada, is hosting a Warhammer 40K Event on Sunday, April 3. The cost is $15.00 per entry.

The host notes, "We will be doing a paint & take starting at noon and ending at 2:00 p.m., then a 350 point skirmish tournament starting at 2:30 p.m. The entry fee is for the entire event and prizes will be based on the number of players. We have a minimum of 4 players required for a tournament and a Maximum of 6 (3 tables), So this is first-come, first-served. You can pre-register and pre-pay for the event to guarantee a spot."

Richard Smith worked for Ford Motor Company

Richard N. Smith, age 87, passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2022, at 1:13 a.m. at Vancrest of Ada.

He was born on December 18, 1934, in Lima, Ohio to the late Carl J. and Elsie (Klingler) Smith.   

Richard is survived by his two children: Doug (Tricia) Smith and Donna Britt both of Ada; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren; and a sister, Betty Smith.  Richard was previously married to Linda Dearth.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Jackie Hull.

Richard retired after working for thirty years from Ford Motor Company of Lima.

Hardin County BOE accepting absentee ballot requests for May 3 primary

The Hardin County Board of Elections is accepting Absentee Ballot Requests for the May 3, 2022 Primary Election.

However, the board has announced that on March 16, 2022, the Supreme Court of Ohio invalidated the Ohio General Assembly district plan adopted on February 24, 2022. Voter district information for Ohio House, Ohio Senate, and State Central Committee will be updated as soon as that information is available.

There are no Ada or Ada school district ballot issues.

History of Hardin County in photos, exhibit and event

April 9 at Hardin County Historical Museums

From 1:00-4:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 9, The Hardin County Historical Museums, 223 N. Main St. Kenton will celebrate the opening of a new exhibit, Pictures of the Past: A History of Hardin County in Photographs.

The event will include special guest Tim Carrig, who will display vintage cameras and talk about photography. Admission is free.

The museum is closed for inventory and to prepare new exhibits from January 3-April 3. Upon reopening, museum hours are Tuesday-Thursday, 1:00-4:00 p.m. For more information, visit https://www.hardinmuseums.org/

I just want to say thank you to our police officers. They are always ready to help and they really seem to get know the people in Ada.

They are great officers for our kind of town. Thank you all and be safe.
