Banquet introduces Distinguished Citizen, new businesses and “town” employees

On Monday, November 7, a ballroom full of Ada dignitaries as well as those taking on new roles in the community gathered to celebrate the “Town & Gown” synergy that is vital to the Village of Ada. The centerpiece of the annual event is the introduction of the Distinguished Citizen of the Year, with 2022 honors going to Deb Curlis, who is currently the director of Beatitudes Community Center and who stepped down as the director of the Ada Area Chamber of Commerce in March 2022.

The public is invited to drop by the ONU Observatory between 8:00-10:00 p.m. on Friday, November 11, for the fourth public astronomy event at ONU Observatory for this Fall.

A: Uranus!  

Yes, Uranus, the seventh planet from the Sun is the inspiration for our event this Friday.

Extension Rainfall Report for Growing Season

HARDIN COUNTY–-With the help of fifteen volunteer rainfall reporters, the Hardin County Extension office has collected unofficial township rainfall data for the past thirty consecutive years. The 2022 growing season began with some early planting in April; however wet soil prevented much field work from occurring in April. In addition, a spring snow arrived during the month. The month of May brought rain and cool temperatures for farmers in Hardin County.

Holiday Spectacular tickets in Ada going fast

At the writing of the article only a few seats are left for the Thursday, November 17 performance of Ohio Northern University's Holiday Spectacular at the Freed Center for the Performing Arts in Ada. Friday and Saturday performances are sold out.

Additional performances are scheduled for the Veterans Memorial Civic and Convention Center, 7 Town Square, Lima. Tickets for these performances may be purchased at any Kewpee Hamburgers location.
