ONU men’s lacrosse picked to finish third in OAC Coaches Poll

ONU opens its 2023 schedule on Saturday hosting Alma (Mich.) at 1 p.m.

The Ohio Northern men's lacrosse team was picked to finish third in the 2023 Ohio Athletic Conference Preseason Poll, as voted on by the league's head coaches.

The Polar Bears received 65 points in the poll.

Anne of Green Gables tickets sell out, stand by requests will be taken

The Freed Center for the Performing Arts has announced:

It is time to institute the Stand-By Policy for tickets to Anne of Green Gables which is sold out for all performances.

Services during Lent at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church

Ash Wednesday will be observed on February 22 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 301 North Main Street, Jenera. The service, led by Pastor Matt Nowak, will be based on John 11 under the theme:  "His final steps led to a tomb."  The students of Trinity School will sing "Glory Be to Jesus."  Hymns by the congregation include: "As Surely as I Live, God Said;" "Be Still, My Soul;" and "I Lay My Sins on Jesus."

Ada Board of Ed to schedule public meeting for athletic conference discussion

The Thursday, February 16 meeting of the Ada Schools Board of Education attracted a full house of parents and coaches with several coming to speak about the district considering changing athletic conferences from the Northwest Conference (NWC) to the Blanchard Valley Conference (BVC) 

February 18 Great Chocolate Bake-Off at the Ada Public Library

Ready for a taste of some real chocolate? Librarian Rhett Grant is excited about hosting the return of the Great Chocolate Bake-Off at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 18 at the Ada Public Library, 320 N. Main St.

All and sundry are invited to show off their baking skills as long as the recipe includes chocolate. Bring a favorite recipe or try out a new one from the library's selection of cookbooks (find the catalog HERE).

The prize for first place is a pound of chocolates donated by Dietsch Brothers of Findlay.

Ada Schools highlight Elks Teens of the Month
