Ada and Hardin County voters have much to decide in Tuesday’s election, so don’t forget to vote!
There is one state-wide issue on the ballot, and it is an important one for Ada and Hardin County. Issue 1 proposes to fund public infrastructure capital improvements by permitting the issuance of general obligation bonds. Such infrastructure improvements are administered through the Ohio Public Works Commission, and are currently referred to as Issue II. Issue II was first passed by Ohio voters in 1987. Since 1987, Hardin County has received over $40 million in grant and loan money through Issue II, and Ada has received over $7 million of the $40 million.
Locally, these funds have had a direct impact on several projects, including reconstruction of West and East Lima Avenue, West and East Lincoln Avenue, and several other projects since 1987.
Other local issues and candidates for office are on the ballot, including a renewal levy for the Ada Schools and a bid for Hardin County Commissioner.
