Freed Center opens subscription sales for 2023-24 season

The Freed Center for the Performing Arts at Ohio Northern University is excited to release its full slate of theatre, dance and music events for the 2023-2024 season, with subscription sales starting Aug. 1. Single tickets are available for purchase approximately six weeks prior to each event beginning on Sept. 28 for the musical comedy It Shoulda Been You.

Main St. accident causes suspected serious injuries

At 7:38 p.m. on Monday, July 31, a two-vehicle injury accident occurred on the east side of the 300 block of N. Main Street in Ada. The report provided by the Ada Police Department provides the following details.

Witness Deleana Downing stated that while northbound on Main she was stopped for a red light at Highland. She saw a vehicle coming upon her extremely fast and got in the left lane so it could pass her. She saw the vehicle move to the right and hit a parked pick up truck.

Ready, Set, Grow Preschool open house, August 8-9 

Ready, Set, Grow Preschool is hosting an open house on August 8-9 from 4:00- 7:00 p.m. for families needing preschool, childcare and after school care. 

The preschool offers flexible schedules Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:45 p.m.

Icon requirements for letters to the editor

In recent weeks, the Bluffton and Ada Icons have received letters to the editor from near and far on a variety of topics. Here are our freshly updated requirements for these submissions:

- Letters should be 400 words or less.

- Letters must be original and civil in tone.

- Letters should focus on the opinions of the writer.

- Statements of facts need to include sources of information or data.

- Letters containing offensive language or content will not be published.

- Libelous or slanderous statements will not be published.

- Letters referring to prior letters or news stories should include
the headline and publication date.

In general, letters must come from individuals who live or work in the Ada or Bluffton readership areas. Writers should provide the Icon with their address and phone number. Only your name and city of residence will be published.
