9 to 5: The Musical is about "Friendship and revenge in the Rolodex era"

The Freed Center for the Performing Arts spring season continues with 9 to 5, a comic musical with music and lyrics by Dolly Parton and based on the 1980 film by 20th Century Fox.

Productions are April 20, 26, 27 at 7:30 p.m. and April 21, 27 at 2 p.m.

The musical is described as "the hilarious story of friendship and revenge in the Rolodex era. Pushed to the boiling point, three female coworkers concoct a plan to get even with the sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot they call their boss. In a hilarious turn of events, Violet, Judy and Doralee live out their wildest fantasy – giving their boss the boot! While Hart remains “otherwise engaged,” the women give their workplace a dream makeover, taking control of the company that had always kept them down."

After the Sunday matinee, there will be a conversation with each show’s creative team and performers.
