"100" a key element of Ada's top stories of 2013
The number 100 might well describe Ada’s top stories of 2013:
Consider:
• 100-year-old Agnes Crates became Citizen of the Year,
• the Ada Farmers and Merchants Picnic celebrated its 100th year,
• the Lincoln Highway observed its 100th year.
• Zac Dysert, who plays on a 100-yard field, became a Denver Bronco.
Stories and videos featuring Dysert attracted over 900 hits on the Icon.
• the Ada school levy passed by 100 + votes (actually 104 votes).
Two other top stories of the year didn’t need a number to become significant.
• the Ada First United Methodist Church announced its plans for rebuilding on Main Street
• Ohio Northern University students Rebecca Yoh, became Miss Minnesota and fourth runner-up in the 2013 Miss America pageant.
Stories and videos feature Rebecca Yoh attrached over 600 hits on the Icon.
Most viewed stories
• The most-watched video on the Icon was the aftermath of an accident on State Route 235 south of Ada. It pulled 3,895 views.
• The most viewed individual story was about the “mystery beast” that turned out to be an ill fox. It attracted 5,487 views after the story went viral.
In 2013, (as of Dec. 29) reached 20,154 total individual viewers and had 38,042 total hits, meaning lots of viewers revisted the Icon more than once per day.
