Alliance Golf Outing
Sign up now for the 2013 Alliance Golf Outing. This event will take place on August 9. Teams will be posted and registration will start at 7:45AM. There will be a SHOTGUN START at 8:30 a.m..
The day will conclude with a meal and contest prize award presentation. Cost per Foursome-$300, or reduced rates as follows: Golf Member & Cart Owner-$45; Golf Member without Own Cart-$55; Non-Member $75. Freedom Celebration
All events take place on Thursday, July 4. Rain date is July 5. Parade line-up is at 3PM, no need to pre register. The parade will leave the City of Kenton Parking Lot behind Liberty National Bank at 4pm.
Also taking place as part of the festivities, a Bumper to Bumper Truck Tug beginning at noon, the Golf Cart Pull will start immediately following the Truck Tug at around 5pm. Also enjoy: 50/50 Raffle Drawing; Chicken and Pork Chop BBQ Sponsored by Pomona Grange in the Community Building.

Kenton Kids Day
On July 13, visit the Court House Square for a day full of fun activities for kids age 2- 6th grade graduates! From 9:30AM-2PM enjoy Horse Rides, Petting Zoo, 30 Foot Slide, Laser Game, Obstacle Course, Parachute Game, Face Painting, Games with the Hardin County Family YMCA and Two Bounce Houses! Fun Run with Ronald McDonald will kick off from Schindewolf-Stevens-Stout Funeral Home at 9:45AM. The Cincinnati Circus Company will have two trapezes this year! Youth & Adult Art Classes
Wolf Creek Art Center is seeking 40 young people ages 9-17 years old, and 40 adults who would like to attend free classes that will include free art supplies to take home with their projects. Young people will learn basic painting skills while creating 11”x14” acrylic landscapes. Choose July 13 or August 10 for a 9AM-11AM session.
Adults are invited to learn basic drawing techniques and the value of using sketchbooks for practice and observation. Select July 18, August 1 or 15 from 7PM to 9PM. All classes will be taught at the art center, 16163 Ohio 31, four miles south of Kenton. These sessions, taught by volunteer professional artists, are possible with a grant from the Hardin County Community Foundation. Kenton Parks & Rec Activities
- July 13 – “Arts in the Parks” will visit Murray Park this time! All ages are welcome to decorate the basketball court with sidewalk chalk from 10AM-12 p.m..

Pressure Canning Workshop
Gardeners and other lovers of fresh produce are often interested in extending the season's bounty by home-preserving fruits and vegetables.
Sign up to learn/refresh your skills by attending one of two hands-on “Pressure Canning Workshop" presented by OSU Extension at 6:30 – 9:00 p.m. on either Monday, July 15 or Thursday, July 25 at 1021 W. Local Small Business Closed-Door Marketing Workshop
Marketing workshop for small business owners (one-woman or one-man operations especially) will be held at the Dicke Forum in Ada, Ohio ONU on July 16 from 9AM-1PM.
The cost is regularly $79 (which includes lunch and signed copy of Matt Brown’s book, The Insurance Xperience), but for any Hardin County small business owners or entrepreneurs, Matt is offering a reduced rate of $29 (also includes lunch and signed book as a bonus). Maximum of 30 participants.

Beautification Awards
The Keep Hardin County Beautiful Commission will be sponsoring the monthly Beautification Award Program. Categories are Farm/Business, Residential and Non-Profit. Deadline for the August awards isJuly 16. Forms are available @ the MLJ Library, Ridgemont Library, Hardin Northern Library, Forest-Jackson Library, Ada Library or by calling 419-674-2216. Winners will be honored at the Annual Keep Hardin County Beautiful Banquet in the fall.
Camp Carefree
A free grief camp to help children and young teens ages 6-15 cope with the loss of a family member or friend. Camp Carefree will be held July 17 from 9am-1pm for children ages 6-11 and on July 18 from 12pm-4pm for young teen’s age’s 12-15. A free lunch will be provided to all camp participants as well as grief literature, a t-shirt, activities and more! Conflict Resolution Workshop
Pre-Registration is required. In this four hour workshop we'll examine the issue of conflict and confrontation, making distinctions between necessary (productive) conflict and disruptive, negative conflict. West Central Ohio Manufacturing Consortium & Husky Energy are sponsors of this event.
We'll consider the predictable conflict cycle (and how to break it before the conflict escalates) and look at alternatives to conflict management (mediation, negotiation)

Survivor Lap at Relay for Life
Whether you were just diagnosed, have been a survivor for numerous years, or are still battling the disease, you are invited to join our Survivor Reception and Lap at the Relay for Life of Hardin County. You will receive a free t-shirt prior to the start of the Relay event. The survivors then "kick-off" our 18 hour event by taking the first lap during the Opening Ceremony at 6PM on July 19. Hardin County Family YMCA Youth Triathlon
A youth triathlon for athletes 7 to 14 years old is planned for July 27 beginning at 8AM. Participants 10 years old and younger will compete in a 100yd swim, 5K bike, 1/2 mile run, Participants 11-14 will compete in a 200yd swim, 10K bike and 1 mile run. Cost is $20 for YMCA members and $30 for Non-Members, all proceeds will benefit the HCFY Sea Dragon Swim Team. For more information contact Chris Kalla, Program Director at 419.673.6131.
Hardin Hustle 5K Walk/Run
The Hardin Hustle 5K Walk/Run and Kid's Fun Run will take place on August 17 with race to begin at 9AMand Kid's Fun Run, ages 12 and under, to begin at 8:15AM. Registration will be from 7:30AM-8:45AM the day of the race.
The course is a paved rural road, out and back. Mile splits. Water available along route. Kids Fun Run entry fee $5. Kids can participate in a 1/2 mile or 1 mile race. Entry fee includes a moisture wicking t-shirt. Entry fee for Adults varies depending on the type of shirt selected.
