FINDLAY – Ada sophomore wrestler Cheznie Vieira finished third in the girls 120 lbs. class at the Findlay Northwest sectional tournament on Friday, February 21.
She qualified for the district event March 2 at Findlay with a 22-13 record. A top four sectional finish earns a wrestler district qualification.
As a three seed in her quarter of the 16-wrestler bracket at districts, she will face second seed junior Addilyn Delarber of Defiance Tinora in the first round of the double elimination event.
Vieira won her first sectional match in the eight-wrestler bracket by pin in just 95 seconds.
LIMA — The Lima-Allen County Regional Planning Commission (LACRPC) has announced that Rebecca Phillips is its new executive director. The vote was made official in a special board meeting with the organization’s executive committee on Feb. 20. Phillips’ new role became effective immediately following the vote.
KENTON __ On April 22, the OhioHealth North Market Mobile Mammography Unit will be stationed at Home Run Memorial Park, at 13625 OH 292 Kenton. The mobile unit will be operating from 9:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m., which overlaps with the scheduled food distribution event from noon-2:00 p.m.
The North Market Mobile Mammography Unit aims to eliminate barriers for women who need access to vital healthcare screenings by bringing mammography technology directly into communities like Kenton. This upcoming event is thanks to support from the Ohio Northern University student group, ONU Rural Scholars Project–Pharm D.

COLUMBUS, Ohio– The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Forestry is urging Ohioans to follow the state’s outdoor burning regulations and to take precautions if they plan to burn debris this spring. Ohio law dictates that most outdoor burning is prohibited in unincorporated areas from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. March through May.
“Each spring, wildfires ignite in Ohio due to careless trash and debris burning,” said ODNR Division of Forestry Chief Dan Balser. “If Ohioans follow safe burning practices and obey regulations, they can help prevent wildfires.”
