If you've followed the Ada Public Library Facebook you are aware that Gossman Farms have two baby ducks and three baby turkey that were in need of names.
They invited library patrons to help name the birds - a boy and girl name for the ducks and a boy and two girl games for the turkeys.
This invitation came about after the library had a chicken storytime at the farm on April 7. CLICK HERE to watch a video of the visit.
After several suggestions, the decision was to name the poultry after the spice rack.
Jaileigh Beltz has been working hard on her packet that Miss Tara and Miss Jonica sent home for her during the shut down. Jaileigh is a student at Liberty Village Preschool. Specifically in these pictures she colored the picture after tracing lines with her fingers, matched the number to the syllable for the word in the picture, and wrote her name out.
Ada politics 101 years ago was just as interesting as it is today. Here's a photo of a political parade with the sign reading "Vote Ohio Dry on Nov. 3."
This was the Ohio ratification of federal alcohol prohibition. The election took place in November 1919. It was known as Referendum 1 as a veto referendum, where it was defeated. The measure rejected the ratification of the national prohibition amendment. The vote was later overturned by the U.S. Supreme Court.
The measure was one of four qeustions relating to alcohol prohibition on the 1919 Ohio ballot.
