Four Ohio Northern student/athletes were named Scholar All-Americans in wrestling for 2012-13 in voting conducted by the National Wrestling Coaches of Association.
Seniors Jeremy Jones and Kyle Kwiat, junior Jerry Pasquale and sophomore Cody Lovejoy were all selected to the team.
Jones is a two-time NCAA III Championships qualifier, is a three-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference honoree and finished 28-20 this season, wrestling at 133 pounds.
An athletic training major, Jones currently ranks 24th all-time at ONU with a 77-65 career record.
Kwiat is the two-time defending national champion and a four-time All-American at 174 pounds.
He also holds ONU's single-season and career wins records, posting a 45-3 record this season and boasting a 158-16 career mark.
Kwiat is an exercise physiology major.
Pasquale posted a 26-15 record this season, wrestling at 125 pounds.
In three seasons at ONU, Pasquale, a pharmay major, has a 47-36 career record.
Lovejoy is a two-time All-OAC honoree and was an NCAA III qualifier in 2012-13.
A pharmacy major, Lovejoy has a two-year career record of 58-30. He went 32-13 this season.
Lovejoy also won the NCAA's prestigious Elite 89 Award, given to the student/athlete competing at the national championships in each sport with the highest GPA.
The No. 26-ranked Polar Bears won the OAC Regular Season title with a 4-1 record and finished 16-4 overall in 2012-13 under 25th-year head coach Ron Beaschler.
