February temps slightly above average
February came and went and the days continue to get longer and longer in promise of spring. According to Guy Verhoff, local weather observer, this February was above average in a couple ways but not by much.
The average temperature in February was 27.7 degrees (F), which is .5 degrees higher than our normal average. We had a high temperature of 52 degrees on Feb. 18 and our lowest temperature was 7 degrees, recorded on Feb. 7.
Precipitation in the form of rain was 2.01 inches for Feb. with our average being 1.9 inches. Over an inch of that was recorded on Feb. 26. We also recorded 7.2 inches of snow in February with 2.5 inches of that falling on Feb. 4.
