Edward "Bill" Risner 1921-2014

Edward M. "Bill" Risner, 92, died on Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2014 at 7:20 p.m. at his residence in Alger, surrounded by his family.

He was born on Feb. 15, 1921 in Salyersville, Kentucky, to Buddie and Lula (Lewis) Risner who preceded him in death. He was married to Elsie Nichols and she preceded him in death. He retired from the railroad.

James Haney was a graduate of Alger High School

James Haney, 74, died Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2014, at 7:42 a.m. at Lima Memorial Health System, Lima, Ohio.

He was born on April 28, 1939 in Hardin County, Ohio, to Fred and Myrtle (Arnett) Haney and they preceded him in death. He married Ann Briley on May 21, 1967, and she survives in Wapakoneta.

He retired from Sheller Globe/Superior Coach Division in Lima after 25 years. He was a US Army veteran serving from 1962-1964 in South Korea. Heformerly attended the Pentecostal Tabernacle Church of Alger. He was a 1957 graduate of Alger High School.

Hardin County under a Level 2 snow emergency

HARDIN COUNTY UNDER A LEVEL 2 SNOW EMERGENCY

Level 2: roads are hazardous (including primary roads) with blowing and drifting snow a possibility. Only those who feel it is necessary to drive should be on these roadways. Employees should contact their employers to see if they should report to work.
