Trees full of mittens

There's an interesting Christmas treet at Community Health Professionals in Ada. It's full of mittens, gloves and winter hats. Icon viewers are invited to contribute to the tree. The donations benefit Hardin County Head Start kids.

Final Bingo of the year held Dec. 18

The final Bingo Bonus night for 2014 is Thursday, Dec. 18. Bingo takes place at the Alumni N-men’s Building in downtown Ada.

The door open at 5:30 p.m. and Bingo begins at 6:55 p.m. Proceeds from Ada Bingo benefits the Ada Lions’ Club, Ada Music Boosters and the Ada-Liberty Volunteer Fire Department.

There will be lots of Christmas prize contests and on this special Bonus Night, when Ada Bingo reaches the Level 1 payout minimum (at least 40 players), they will pay out at Level 2 prize levels.

And, if the number of players normally needed to reach Level 2 is achieved (65 players), Ada Bingo will pay out at Level 3 prize levels.

Headline: Have Breakfast with Santa at The Inn at ONU on Dec. 20

Santa will be in Ada on Saturday, Dec. 20. His visit will take place in The Inn at ONU from 9 to 11 a.m. Bring your children for breakfast with Santa. All children attending will get a special visit and picture with Santa.

Reservations are required by calling The Inn at 419-772-2500.

“Classic Homeschooling” subject of Dec. 9 Kiwanis meeting

The Ada Kiwanis Club met on Tuesday December 9, 2014 at 12:00 noon at McIntosh Center, Ohio Northern University, Ada President John Berg called the meeting to order at 12:00 noon.

The following guests were introduced: Rev. Patrick Allen, his wife Deb, and two of their children, Nathan and Noah.

The birthdays of members Scott Wills (December 10th) and Jon Umphress (December 13th were noted.

The wedding anniversary of Bryan and Colleen Marshall (December17th) was also noted.

Anabel, Nora and Sydney had a very interesting Thanksgiving - cheering!

Anabel Alexander and Nora Dellified from Ada and Sydney Hayter from Kenton joined more than 500 elementary, junior high and high school cheerleaders and dancers from across the country who performed in the 2014 UCA/UDA Thanksgiving Tour at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida.

The three performed with the UCA/UDA All-Americans group in the Festival of Fantasy pre-parade at the Magic Kingdom Park on Thanksgiving Day.

Anabel is an eighth grader at Ada.She is the daughter of Rob and Shelleigh Alexander. Grandparents are Bob and Phyllis Alexander from Ada and Bill and Carol Watson from Bascom.
