Kiwanis pancake day: All you can eat, lots of full tummies in Ada

All the pancakes you could eat was all part of the 63rd annual Ada Kiwanis Club pancake day on March 14.

In all, 542 people were served in this annual fundraiser held at Ada school cafeteria. Monty Siekerman took photos of the event, which are below. Here are the photo IDs:

All the pancakes you can eat - Saturday, thanks to Kiwanis Club

All the pancakes you can eat is available only one day a year in Ada.

That day is Saturday, when the Ada Kiwanis Club continue its 63-year tradition of holding a pancake and sausage day.

Serving takes place in the Ada school cafeteria from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Take-outs are available. Tickets are $7 for adults, while youth 10 and under when accompanied by an adult are free.

Of course, the club is well-known in Ada for more that serving pancakes. Here's a list of recent service to the community:

ONU business and law students offer Volunteer Income Tax Assistance

There's still time!

Taxpayers in Ada can find free income tax assistance from Ohio Northern University business and law students through Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA).

The VITA Program offers free tax help to low- to moderate-income (generally $52,000 and below) individuals across the country who cannot prepare tax returns on their own. As part of this program, ONU students receive training and become IRS-certified to help prepare basic and intermediate tax returns and identify special credits, such as the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), Child Tax Credit and Credit for the Elderly.

Medical Disposal Day April 11 in Ada

Medication Disposal Day is Saturday April 11, from 9 a.m. to noon in two Hardin County locations, including one in Ada.

• Kenton location, 75 Washington Blvd., parking lot of the Medical Office building at Hardin Memorial Hospital
• Ada, South Main Street and East College Avenue, parking lot between RiteAid and Northern on Main.

Enter off Main Street and exit onto College Avenue. Acceptable items include household generated pharmaceuticals, prescription drugs, liquid medications, household pet medications, medicated lotions and sunscreens.
