Substance Abuse and Connections
Could we have been wrong about one important aspect of substance abuse? Could it be that something else is going on within the lives of those with substance use disorders that we should consider?
A new phrase is now part of the substance abuse rehabilitation culture. “The opposite of addiction is not sobriety, but connection.”
Here is an announcement of a new mausoleum at Woodlawn Cemetery, Ada, from 1907. Information and sketch is provided by Leland Crouse.
May 1907 The Hardin County Mausoleum Company of Ada had plans and drawings for a new mausoleum at Woodlawn cemetery. The company is being promoted by W.H. Freund and J.E. Hesser. It was dedicated in June 1909. The mausoleum held 240 crypts and a 12-foot driveway through the center.
Dr. Bo Young Kang, director of choral activities, will make her debut conducting the oratorio at Bluffton. Soloists along with the Bluffton Choral Society including students, faculty, staff and community members will be accompanied by an orchestra.
Audience members will be invited to sing along with three of the major choruses—“Glory to God,” “Hallelujah Chorus” and “Worthy is the Lamb.”

Ada elementary students are passing their energy to the Vancrest residents this month. Several pieces of their art work is now on display at Vancrest.
