The No. 9 Ohio Northern men's soccer team remained undefeated in the OAC with a 2-0 victory over the Otterbein Cardinals Wednesday afternoon at the ONU Soccer Field.

The Polar Bears are now 13-2-0 overall and sit in first place in the OAC at 4-0, while the Cardinals fall to 4-7-1, 0-3-1.

The Polar Bears quickly got on the board in eighth minute when senior Nate Bascom passed the ball to fellow senior Cameron Johnson who fired a shot in the box to beat the goalie.

This was Johnson's ninth goal of the season.

Ohio Northern added another goal in the 13th minute when Bascom scored his team-high 14th goal of the season off of a penalty kick.
Senior goalie Mac Church earned his 41st career shutout while making a season-high six saves.

Church improves his record to 13-2 on the season.

Cardinal goalie Kyle Rimpa made 12 saves in the match with his record falling to 4-7-1.

The Polar Bears outshot the Cardinals 28-9 with 14 shots on goal for Ohio Northern compared to six shots on goal for Otterbein.

"Defensively we played very well and that is what carried us through the game," said head coach Brent Ridenour.  "Otterbein is a good team, and we look forward to coming back out and playing again on Saturday. "

The Polar Bears will be in action again on Saturday at the ONU Soccer Field when they take on the Marietta Pioneers at 1 pm.

The game Saturday will be the third Annual "Kicks for a Cause" fundraiser and Parents Day.
