ONU ranked No. 2 among Midwest regional colleges; top 50 engineering schools

 

Ohio Northern University has been ranked No. 2 among Midwest regional colleges in “Best Colleges 2014,” published annually by U.S. News & World Report.

Ohio Northern has appeared in the top 10 of the publication’s Midwest Regional College rankings for the past 22 years and in the top five for the past 10 out of 11 years. Because most of the colleges in the category draw heavily from nearby states, they are ranked by region.

Ready, set, hike...here comes Wilson's football garage sale

It could be the largest single garage sale in Hardin County - make that northwestern Ohio.

"It's" Wilson Sporting Goods Co., football garage sale. This year's sale is from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Sept. 14, on the Wilson property.

The sale brings a couple thousand football and other sports fans to Ada for a once-a-year chance for footballs including overruns, blemished footballs, scrap footballs and many other miscellaneous sporting goods items.

The company is already staking out the area where sale items will be on sale.

 

State Route 235 accident

An accident south of Ada on State Route 235 this morning (Sept. 11) stopped traffic for over an hour. Two vehicles were involved, and the Hancock County State Patrol are investigating. According to a truck driver stopped by the accident, a Life Flight helicopter arrived and the scene around 6:30 a.m. and transported at least one person to a hospital. CLICK FOR A VIDEO.

Weather: Looks like no rain in sight

The first nine days of September weather have ranged fairly wide, according to local weather observer Guy Verhoff.

Our highest temperature during that time was 91 degrees (F) on Monday, September 9 and our lowest temperature was 47 degrees (F) during the overnight of September 6.

Notably, we had very little rain in the first nine days of September.  The first and second days held less than four one-hundredths of an inch of rain.  And no rain has fallen since.

The greatest temperature swing in one day was on Monday, September 9 when the high was 91 degrees and the low was 57 degrees, a difference of 34 degrees in one day.

C-R show choir Oct. 12 craft show accepting vendors

The Cory-Rawson Impressions Show Choir is having a craft show on Saturday, Oct 12, from 1-4 p.m. at Cory-Rawson High School.

All table rental fees go to benefit show choir.  There is still room for vendors and many items to choose from ranging from homemade goodies and direct sales.
