Choosing the right college is crucial. For any graduating senior, many hours are put in to searching out the college that best fits you. You must find a school that satisfies not only your academic needs, but also your social, financial and extracurricular desires.

Recent Ada grad, Tabbi Jolliff, believes she made the right choice. She will attend the University of Findlay this fall to major in occupational therapy.

Tabbi already has many connections with the university and with the City of Findlay. She will be able to live at home her freshman year and commute to school. With her brother already attending Findlay, family will never be out of reach, which is important to Tabbi and comforting for any incoming freshman.

Tabbi also began working at Bishop Kandle Rentals in Findlay this summer, performing light maintenance and cleaning rental homes. She will be able to continue her employment there while going to school.

A natural athlete, Tabbi was involved in volleyball and basketball. She was a member of National Honor Society and was the Vice President of the Language Club. One of Tabbi’s proudest sports moments in high school was scoring her personal best, game high of 32 points against Cory-Rawson her junior year. With a smile, Tabbi said, “That’s a night I will never forget.”

Athletics were Tabbi’s passion and she was a standout in both of her chosen sports. Basketball meant so much to her, she wished to continue it at the collegiate level. Wilmington College recruited Tabbi to join itsbasketball team, but the distance would have been too difficult. “If I did end up playing college basketball, I would want to be close enough that my family could come and watch me,” Tabbi explains.

The University of Findlay, yet again proved to be the best option. After talking with the women’s head varsity basketball coach, Tabbi was encouraged to walk on to the junior varsity team this upcoming freshman year. It will be a perfect opportunity to see if she can handle her new college academic work load and athletics.

Ms. Jolliff’s post-high school path seemed to unfold perfectly. With a clear focus of what was important to her in life, Tabbi’s choices became very easy. In 10 years, Tabbi hopes to be the head unit at her own occupational therapy office.  She is the daughter of Lyle and Mindy Jolliff.
