Save the Date: Trick or Treat is October 31

The Village of Ada (and several other local communities) has scheduled Trick or Treat night for October 31, 2024. The designated time period is 5:30 - 7:30 p.m.

AEDs already in place at Ada Schools

This summer Ohio Governor Mike DeWine signed House Bill 47 requiring automated external defibrillators (AEDs) to be placed in every public and chartered nonpublic school in Ohio. These are already in place at the Ada Schools and require no special training in the event of sudden cardiac arrest. The American Heart Association reports that nine out of 10 cardiac arrest victims will live if they receive a shock from an AED in the first minute after an incident.

Vitamin D: What is all the fuss about?

Christopher Brian Bridges (aka Ludacris) is a famous rap artist who has a 2017 song titled Vitamin D.  One of the lines in his lyrics is “You missing so many key nutrients in your life.” 

What nutrients could we be deficient in and what is the controversy?  

As of April 2023, it is estimated that about 35% of the United States population is deficient in vitamin D.  Vitamin D plays an important role in maintaining bone health, heart health, and reducing the risks of some cancers.  It is a vital nutrient.

LIMA __ During the 10 Million Steps to Prevent Falls campaign, the Ohio Department of Aging (ODA) is asking community partners to host local walking groups and events to raise awareness of older adult falls.

Ada Bulldog boys soccer beats state-ranked Miller City

Allen breaks tie with 10 ticks left

ADA __ Well-positioned Bulldog sophomore Andrew Allen netted a rebound shot from the left doorstep of the goal with just 10 seconds left to lift the Ada High School boys soccer team to a thrilling 4-3 win over visiting Miller City (MC) on a warm evening, August 28,  at War Memorial Stadium.

The Bulldogs led 3-1 for much of the second half before MC put on a late rally and scored twice, with 8:51 and 3:19 remaining, to equalize the hard-fought battle at 3-3.
