AHS Soccer: Girls drown Columbian; boys' game postponed

The Ada High School boys soccer game vs. Tiffin Columbian was cancelled after a weather long delay on Saturday evening. They will entertain New Knoxville Monday, Aug. 22 at 7 p.m.

After a long weather delay, the Ada High School girls soccer team bested Tiffin Columbian 4-1 under the lights on the wet turf of War Memorial Park Stadium Park on Saturday, August 20.

The team improved to 2-0 with the impressive win. They have outscored their opposition 13-1 so far this season.

"We played a very good Tiffin team," said Ada head coach Doug Dewese. "Last year's game was a 7-0 Ada win and this Tiffin team was vastly improved.

Bulldogs open with volleyball sweeps

The Ada High School volleyball team served up two convincing victories away from home Saturday to start their season on a high note.

The Bulldogs first defeated Waynesfield-Goshen 25-14, 25-11 in a neutral-site match.

Junior setter Autumn Andreasen dished out 17 assists and served three aces to ignite the victorious offense.

Sophomore Lily Baumgartner knocked down six kills, made four digs and served three aces. Senior Emilee Huffer contributed three digs and one block.

Junior Daicy Robinson smashed three kills and came up with three digs.

Freshman Anna Conley added a block and three digs.

Ambulance board will discuss proposed tax levy

Informational meeting for the public

The Ada-Liberty Joint Ambulance District Board will be holding an informational meeting at 5:30 p.m. on September 12, 2022 to discuss the proposed 2 mill property tax levy on the November ballot. 

The meeting will be held at 530 N. Gilbert St. Ada, OH 45810.

AHS Alumni Association hosts Homecoming Tailgate event

Ada High School Alumni Association will host a Homecoming Game Tailgate event from 5:30-7:00 p.m. on September 23

Village accepting applications for Chief of Police

The Village of Ada is in the process of accepting resumes for the position of Chief of Police.

The village will accept resumes through October 10. Finalists will be invited to participate in an assessment center through the Ohio Association of Chiefs of Police in November or December with final selection to be determined by the end of 2022.

The successful applicant will work with Chief Harnishfeger until his planned retirement at the end of June, 2023.
