ONU women's golf ends season with new 36-hole record

ROME, Ga.—The Ohio Northern women's golf team broke its 36-hole school record by a full 18 strokes and finished third of 12 teams at the Berry (Ga.) Chik-Fil-A Invitational Monday and Tuesday at the Coosa Country Club.

Happy Halloween from the Icon! Village of Ada Trick or Treating will take place from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on October 27 with the following activities scheduled:

  • Haunted Hallway on 400 block of Heistand
  • Vancrest of Ada Trunk or Treat
  • Ada First United Methodist Church Trunk or Treat
  • Ada-Liberty Fire & EMS serving hot dogs
  • Halloween party at Ada Public Library

A drive-thru trick or treat event is scheduled on the ONU campus on November 1.

Virgil Dye owned Dye’s Plumbing, Heating, and Electrical

Virgil Walker Dye, age 88, passed of Alger, passed away on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at Bridge Hospice Care Center in Findlay.  

Virgil was born on October 6, 1934, in Van Lear, Kentucky to the late John and Rusha (Blevins) Dye.  On March 7, 1980, Virgil married Sonja K. Rowe and she survives in Alger.

Bulldog Amos 1st team all-league gridder; Green, Bolden 2nd team

Ada High School senior lineman Lester Amos was named first team All-Northwest Conference on defense in Fall 2022 voting recently conducted by the league football coaches.

Bulldog sophomore quarterback/return ace Levi Green was named second team All-Northwest Conference as a specialist. 

He was third in the NWC in rushing with 1,025 yards on 191 rushes, and he scored 10 touchdowns. He averaged 5.4 yards per carry and 102.5 yards per game.

Green also completed 63 of 132 passes for 831 yards and seven TDs with nine interceptions this season. He returned one kickoff for a touchdown and averaged 20.8 yards per return.
