I'll take a number 1 to go, please

Earlier this winter Jason Hunt became general manager of the Ada McDonald's. The Ottawa resident has 16 years of McDonald's experience including being interim manager at Delphos and assisting in new training programs in the company. "We have many loyal customers in Ada," he said. "You get to the know the regulars rather quickly here."

"The Croods" starts Friday at Ada Theatre

"The Croods", an animated movie in which, according to IMDb, "the world's very first prehistoric family goes on a road trip to an uncharted and fantastical world" starts on Friday.

The movie will run from Friday March 22 through Thursday, March 28

Showtimes are:

Friday and Saturday 7 p.m. and  9 p.m.

Saturday and Sunday matinees at 1:30 p.m. and 4 p.m.

Daily shows at 7 p.m.

ONU's 200 medley relay advances to consolation finals

Ohio Northern's 200 medley relay team of seniors Drew Keriazes and Marc Anderson and juniors Jordan Breitigam and Christian Garlock finished 11th in the prelims and advanced to the consolation finals on the first day of the NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships Wednesday afternoon at the Conroe Natatorium.

The group finished third in their heat and were 11th of 23 teams in 1:31.70.

The top eight in each event earn All-America honors with finishers 9-16 earning Honorable Mention All-America kudos, meaning the Polar Bears will just have to complete the race to earn Honorable Mention honors.

Women's outdoor track & field finish second in OAC outdoor track & field preseason poll

The Ohio Northern women's outdoor track & field team was picked to finish second in the OAC outdoor track & field preseason poll in voting conducted by the league's head coaches.

The Polar Bears received 50 points.

Mount Union was tabbed to finish first with 59 points and seven first place votes, Northern was second with 50 points and John Carroll was third with 49 points and the other two first place votes.

Mount Union won this season's OAC Indoor Track & Field Championship.

ONU finished fifth in last season's OAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

Men's outdoor track & field picked to finish third in OAC preseason poll

The Ohio Northern men's outdoor track & field team was chosen to finish third in the OAC Outdoor Track & Field poll, in voting conducted by the head coaches of the OAC.

The Polar Bears earned 47 points and also received a first place vote.

Mount Union was chosen to finish first, receiving 63 votes and seven first place votes, John Carroll was second with 53 points and a first place vote and ONU was third.

Mount Union won the OAC Indoor Track & Field Championships, with Northern finishing fifth.

If you want to receive your grade card, pay your class fees

Several news items are on the Ada school website. Here's a capsule of events:

REMINDER TO PAY SCHOOL FEES: In order to receive your grade card on Friday, March 22. Students who have unpaid fees will receive a blank grade card if fees are not paid in full.

SENIORS: The following local scholarship are due April , but with the Easter break, turn them all in first thing on Wednesday, April 3. The Alumni, AEA, Lions, Ada Local, Hawkins, Rotary and Kiwanis. They are all located on the Ada Schools website under Parents/Students and then Guidance Department.
