Graphic novel "Blankets" next library book discussion topic

The next Ada Public Library book discussion group tackles a graphic novel "Blankets," by Craig Thompson.

The discussion is at 7 p.m., Tuesday, July 2. Persons interested in joining the discussion may check out a copy of the novel soon.

Plot

Blankets chronicles Craig's adolescence and young adulthood, his childhood relationship with his younger brother, and the conflicts he experiences regarding Christianity and his first love.

Krysti's Music Studio offers July 15-18 youth art camp

Krysti's Music Studio, 334 S. Main St., Bluffton, will hold an Art Camp for youth Monday through Thursday, July 15-18, at the Bluffton studio, according to Krysti Schey, studio owner.

Times to choose from are 10 a.m. to noon or 6 to 8 p.m. Depending upon the number of registrants a 2 to 4 p.m. time slot may open.

"This camp is for youth ages 5 through high school. The cost is $66 total, or only $35 if the student is also taking summer music lessons," said Schey.

Mandy Huston, a recent Bluffton University art graduate, will be lead the students in several projects throughout the week. 

Bingo every Thursday in July

Ada Bingo plays on Thursdays in July at the Alumni N-men’s Building in downtown Ada. Those dates are July 4, July 11, July 18 and July 25.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m.; Bingo begins at 6:55 p.m..

Ada Bingo uses new, radio-controlled electronic machines, as well as, traditional paper
packages.

Proceeds from Ada Bingo benefits the Ada Lion's Club and Ada Music
Boosters.

Ada Senior Citizens schedule trip to Sauder Village

Ada Senior Citizens is sponsering a bus trip to Sauder Village on Wednesday, July 24. 

Cost of the trip is $48.  This includes the bus ride on a 40-passenger bus with air conditioning and lavatory, entry into the musem, an Amish-style buffet meal, shopping and a visit to a candy store. 

The bus will leave Ada from the railroad depot.  For information  or to make reservations call Terry at 419-634-9515 or Judy at 419-634-0422.

Ada Senior Citizens, a social organzation founded in Ada in 1971 meets on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month at 12:30 p.m. at the Community Health Professionals Bldg. on S.R. 235.
