Celebrate the holidays with these events at The Inn at ONU

The holidays are approaching and Icon viewers will want to make certain they put these exciting events taking place at The Inn at ONU on your calendar.

• Nov. 7 Food and Wine Pairing at 6:30 p.m.
Enjoy an evening full of fine wines paired with delicious food and live music. A portion of the proceeds benefits the Hardin County Foundation. Reservations are $45 per person (plus tax/gratuity).

Agnes Crates waited 100 years - now she's Ada's citizen of the year

Agnes Crates, life-long Ada resident, thought she was going to present the invocation at Monday’s Town and Gown Banquet.

She did deliver it, but unknown to her, the community had bigger plans. Mrs. Crates was bestowed the honor of 2013 Ada citizen of year during the banquet.

She joins an impressive list of Ada residents who have received this honor over the past 48 years.

A fitting honor

Ada resident Agnes Crates gets a hug following Monday's Town and Gown Banquet. The 100-year-old Ada resident was named the Ada Citizen of the Year at the 48th annual community-university event.

New Leaf Open House
Join the staff of New Leaf in Ada and Kenton for their annual Open House on November 16 from 9AM to 5PM.

Ada Youth Wrestling Club sign-ups today and Tuesday

The Ada Youth Wrestling Club  sign-ups are Monday, Nov. 4, 2013 from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. and Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Ada School Cafeteria (located West of the Ada High School Gym).

This will be for boys and girls 5-12 years old. All experience levels, from beginner to advanced, are welcome to participate. The club accepts children from all surrounding communities.

The Ada club isa member of the Miami Valley Kids Wrestling Association (MVKWA) based in Dayton. The MVKWA has more than 70 clubs that participate in local tournaments weekly from December through February.

The Book Thief

Teens in the  Ada Public Library book group will discuss Markus Zusak's "The Book Thief" this month. The book discussion is at 4 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 14. Copies of the book are available at the library.
