Registration underway for July 10 7th annual bike ride

FROM BLUFFTON ICON - Slow down for bicycle riders coming through Ada on Saturday, July 10.
An Ada bike route is part of this year’s Ride to Remember bicycle ride with a starting and ending point in Bluffton.
The Ada Loop on the ride is 37 miles. It passes through Ada and LaFayette with a food stop on the Ohio Northern campus in Ada.
This is the 7th annual Bluffton’s 7th annual Ride to Remember.
After a one-year virtual ride, this year’s event returns with an in-person ride on Saturday, July 10, or an independent ride on a biker’s own time and location, according to Ron Headings, Ride chair.
Grace Allison received the Myra Traxler Memorial Scholarship presented in late May at the Ada senior recognition event.
Grace will attend Otterbein University and will major in elementary education. With Grace are her parents, Scott and Arlene, with Don Traxler. The scholarship is in memory of Don’s wife, Myra, who died in 2007.

With the theme “Remembering our past helps create our future!” the Village of McGuffey celebrates its 125th year this summer with a one-day celebration.
It takes place at 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 28, in the Upper Scioto Valley parking lot and Courtright Street.
Sponsored by the historical society McGuffey Memories created in 2019, the event has a rain date of Sunday, Aug. 29.
“We invite volunteers, crafters, musicians, square dancers, vendors, sponsors and anyone with a talent who is willing to help us make this event a success,” said Marianna Watts of the Memories organization.
Ohio Northern alumnus, 9-time NCAA Champion and 14-time All-American Emily Richards has qualified for the 2021 United States Olympic Trials, which will be held June 18-27 in Eugene, Ore.
Richards ran a 2:02.10 at the Stumptown Twilight Meet on June 3 in Portland, Ore., to qualify. The qualifying mark for this year's trials in the 800 is 2:02.50.
The top three finishers at the Olympic Trials will make the U.S. Olympic team and will compete in the 2021 Olympics in Tokyo July 30-Aug. 8.
