Concerning meals, students' mental health, students' progress,

Here is the March 25 community update from Ada Schools.

Yesterday was the first day, I think, where the Governor’s press conference didn’t impose a change or tweak to what schools are doing. So, we didn’t do a community update.

But, today I wanted to share a few things that may be helpful. We are awaiting word, hopefully next week, as to whether this closure is to be extended (which I personally believe is likely), and thus we will begin to communicate our plans moving past April 3.

In the meantime, here are some items I hope are helpful:

Four Ada High School students received recognition from the Kenton Elks Lodge 157 as their school's students of the months for March and April.

Students from each school in Hardin County are recognized each month. This was the third group of students recognized for 2019-2020 school year by the Elks.

Quest Federal Credit Union, Ada will return to normal businss/drive-thru hours beginning Thursday, March 26, according to its Facebook.

The announcement also stated:  We are remaining staffed to support our member/owners as we are an essential business, but extended hours at this time are not advisable for public or staff health and safety.

The hours of business, effective Thursday, are as follows:

• Monday-Thursday: 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
• Friday: 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m.

Neither rain, sleet, hail or a virus keeps the Viva Maria's staff from keeping customers content. The popular Ada restaurant continues to offer lunch and dinner specials. Customers may order, take out or have their meals delivered within a 7-mile radius of Ada. Pick up your phone, dial 567-940-8482 and go from there.

Spring is here and New Leaf Landscape and Garden Center, 0395 State Route 235, north of Ada is open.

Curbside service is available for customers practicing social distancing.

• Simply call in an order, pay for it with a credit card over the phone
• Call New Leaf upon your arrival
• An employee will bring your order to your car

New Leaf has seed potatoes, onion sets and vegetable seeds on hand for spring garden starters.

New Leaf hours:
Monday-Wednesday-Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Saturday 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Tuesday and Sunday closed
