Here's what all that cheering is about at the pool in the evening

Photos by Ken Collins
Ask anyone in Ada what's the "coolest" sport this summer. The answer is swim team.

Ken Collins, Icon photographer, checked out the Ada versus Kenton swim meet at the local pool last week. The home team won.

He found action on the sidelines and in the pool.

Please enjoy his photo story of the meet below:

Funded by two property tax levies

By Monty Siekerman
What are the Ada Park Board's plans for the money that will be generated from the two property tax levies passed last fall by the voters in Ada and Liberty Township?

Here's their current thinking, in no particular order of priority:
Replace the park truck
Get on a 5 year rotation to replace park equipment
New Gator
New fence around stadium
New lines painted on the track

Molly Cummings has been named an assistant coach for of track and field at ONU.

Cummings joins the Polar Bears after a 3-year stint as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Marian (Ind.) University, where she coached the hurdlers and was also responsible for the fall training of all sprinters, jumpers and hurdlers.

During her three seasons at Marian, Cummings guided Taylor Killings to two National Championship titles in the Indoor 60-meter hurdles and one National Championship title in the Outdoor 110-meter hurdles.

The Icon is certain that ONU's Klondike is the most photographed person/animal in Ada.

According to the ONU Facebook: Klondike is spending some quality time with our new Polar Bears for summer orientation. Are you #NowAPolarBear? Show your pride and tag your best moment with Klondike.

Klondike is photographed with lots of in-coming students. In our mind, that makes him a ham for the camera. Check the photos below:

The 2016 Ada Consumer Confidence Report, also known as CCR, is now available to the general public.

Making the report available is an annual requirement for compliance with the Safe Drinking Water Act for community water systems throughout the country.

According to the U.S. EPA, the report “lists the regulated contaminants found in the drinking water.....as well as health effects information.”

The Village passes this information along to its consumers not just to comply with the federal regulations, but also because the administration feels it is important for consumers to know where their drinking water comes from and what affects it.
