Kenton Historic Courthouse District (HCD), part of the Hardin County Chamber & Business Alliance, will hold a new major summer event in Kenton’s Historic Courthouse District Friday, June 26, from 5 to 10 p.m.
“Eats on the Street” Friday Night Food Truck Fest will include six food trucks from Columbus:
• The Paddy Wagon,
• Coldstone Creamery,
• Pitabilities,
• Schmidt's Sausage Truck,
• Phillybuster and
• Sticky Fingers.
Ada Public Library will get wet on July 2 - so to speak.
The library's Pool Party, which is Thursday, July 2, at 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Ada Pool, according to Amanda Bennett, director.
A rain date is Friday, July 3, same time.
"Kids will swim until a little after 12 p.m., then have lunch, and a few of the kids will be chosen to do terrible, awful and entertaining things to Ms. Natalie and myself," said Bennett.
For the time period of May 1-May 31, Hardin County Extension rainfall reporters recorded an average of 3.70 inches of rain in Hardin County.
Last year, the average rainfall for the same time period was 3.51 inches. Rainfall for May 1-May 31, 2015, matches the 3.70 inches for the 10-year average rainfall during the same dates.
Blanchard Township received 4.95 inches of rain for May 1-May 31, the most of any of the township sites.
Liberty Township received 4.63 inches in May and 5.67 inches since April 15.

The 4th annual Ada Gospel Sing will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, June 27, at the Walter's home, 2845 Heritage Place, which is near Norada Lanes. Look for a large tent.
The event is free. Bring a lawn chair. Food will be available for a purchase.

The annual membership drive for the Ada Music Boosters is now underway.
With the help of the Ada community, the music boosters are able to enhance music education and the performance-based programming for the Ada Exempted Village Schools.

The works of Ohio Northern University’s art and design alumni were recently selected for exhibit and earned awards at the 59th Annual June Art Exhibit at the Wassenberg Art Center located in Van Wert.
The exhibit originated with founding art club members and continues today, featuring about 80 pieces of original art by artists from the tri-state region. Today, the art center has grown to hold one of northwest Ohio’s best juried art exhibits, with a reputation for high quality of work.
"This is a really different antique that has been reupholstered in leather!" says Dan Garver of Fine Touch Furniture and Upholstery, 513 N. Johnson St., Ada.
