Ohio Northern University is hosting a “Summer Sounds Choral Festival” for elementary-age students (from second to sixth grades) on the campus of ONU from June 25-29.
Summer Sounds Choral Festival is a half-day choral experience (8:45 a.m. to noon) in which campers learn choral repertoire and performance techniques, develop their musical skills through movement and music games, and attend special classes with instruments. Experienced music teachers teach all classes, and ONU music majors serve as counselors. The week culminates with a concert highlighting the skills the children have learned throughout the week.
Graveside services for Robert Charles Bob Ferguson will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Preston Cemetery in Alger by the Amvets Post 1994 of Kenton.

He died at 7:45 p.m. Monday, May 7, 2012 at his nephew’s residence in Alger.
He was born Nov. 9, 1949 in Vicco, Ky., to Chalmers and Elizabeth (Crace) Ferguson. His father and step-mother, Chalmers and Phyllis Ferguson, survive in Mount Pleasant and his mother preceded him in death.
Services for Lori J. Boyette will be 1 p.m. Thursday at the Assembly of God Church in Alger by Pastor Mark Andreasen. Burial will be in Roundhead Cemetery.
Friends may call 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday at the church.
She died at 12:10 a.m. Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine.
She was born Jan. 4, 1960 in Lima to Adam Francis and Doris (Baughman) Edens and they preceded her in death.
Surviving are a brother, Michael V. (Barbara) Edens of Quincy; three sisters, Carolyn J. Courtney of Alger, Judith A. (Thomas) Lawrence of Huntsville and Susan Jan (Tony) Caldwell of Cardington.

The Inn at ONU will host a 6:30 p.m., Saturday, June 9, wine and food pairing event, featuring an outstanding selection of fine wins nd food. Cost is $45 per person, plus tax and gratuity.

The No. 24-ranked Ohio Northern softball team received an at-large bid to the 2012 NCAA Division III Tournament.
The Polar Bears (26-11) received the No. 2 seed in the Alma (Mich.) Regional and will face seventh-seeded Penn State-Behrend (26-13) in the first round on Thursday at 4 pm.
Ohio Northern won its fourth consecutive Ohio Athletic Conference Regular Season title with a 14-3 league record and finished runner-up at the OAC Tournament in Ada Friday and Saturday.
This also marks the fourth consecutive NCAA Tournamernt appearance for Ohio Northern.

Michael Milks, of Ada, is the 2012 recipient of the Cardinal health Generations Rx Champions Award for excellence in community-based prescription drug abuse prevention.
This award recognizes a pharmacist for his work in combating prescription drug abuse. The award honors a pharmacist who has demonstrated outstanding commitment within the pharmacy community to raise awareness of prescription drug abuse.
