ONU holds 150th commencement exercises

While Ohio Northern has already celebrated its 150th anniversary, the tradition of commencement cermonies dates back to 1874, This program from the Northwestern Ohio Normal School, as the institution was then known, is from A Pictorial History of Ohio Northern University.

School board approves waiving of school fees in 2024-2025

The May 16 meeting of the Ada Schools Board of Education included numerous staffing approvals, an updated financial forecast, commendations for several local businesses and approval of a waiver of school fees for the 2024-2025 school year.

In his report to the board, Ada Elementary Principal Jeremy Clark noted his resignation was on the agenda that evening. Clark has accepted a position with the Bath Local School District. His comments included appreciation for the example set by high school principal Dan Lee and his "100% commitment" to the schools.

Contracts were approved for new hires Chris Sautter, who will teach 5th grade math, and Colton Montgomery, who will teach high school social studies.

Pain is a universal human experience, serving as a vital signaling mechanism alerting the body to potential injury or harm. However, not all pain is alike, and understanding the distinction between acute and chronic pain is paramount for effective management and treatment. 

Acute Pain
Acute pain is characteristically short-lived, arising suddenly in response to tissue damage or injury. Acute pain serves as a protective mechanism, signaling the body to take action to prevent further harm. Common causes of acute pain include trauma, surgical procedures, burns, cuts, and fractures. The pain is often localized to the area of injury and is characterized by its intensity and sharpness. Acute pain tends to resolve as the underlying cause heals, with a duration typically lasting less than three to six months.
