Cadets perform "Thank you Ada concert"

Sunday at 8 p.m. in Dial Roberson Stadium

You've heard their music throughout Ada since June 2, now the Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps is ready for their Thank You Ada concert. The free concert will begin at 8 p.m. at the Dial-Roberson Stadium.

After practicing in Ada, the Cadets will take their show on the road from coast to coast, competing against other corps from the U.S. and Canada. The 15O-member Cadets Corps includes more than 100 musicians.

Drum Corps International competition begins June 22 in Indianapolis. It continues with nearly 30 shows in 15 states before returning to Indianapolis for the world championships Aug. 10-12.

ONU chaplain recipient of Francis Asbury Award

Presented at West Ohio United Methodist Church conference

The West Ohio Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church recognized Ohio Northern University Chaplain Rev. Dr. David MacDonald earlier this month.

MacDonald is the 2017 recipient of the Francis Asbury Award for Campus Ministry.

The award recognizes individuals who have made a significant contribution to fostering United Methodist ministries in higher education.

The presentation was made during the final afternoon of the 2017 West Ohio Annual Conference at Lakeside, Ohio, on June 7.

There are 162,842 members 1,568 clergy in the 1,020 churches within the West Ohio Conference.

Accounting program highly ranked

The ONU Master of Science in Accounting (MSA) program has been ranked in the top 50 nationally, and the third-ranked online program, in rankings compiled by accounting.com

The MSA program offers courses in forensic accounting and audit services (FAAS track). The FAAS track will develop skills in forensic accounting, auditing, fraud examination and business valuation. ONU’s MSA program offers a blended format, combining online and traditional classroom instruction.

Healthwise given Motor Coach

The ONU College of Pharmacy runs Healthwise. Members of the organization visit Ada and most other communities Hardin County several times a year. Thanks to its partners, CVS and Mercy Health,

Healthwise now has a new motor coach which will increase the visibility of the clinic and provide patients with more privacy. The health outreach services take healthcare to where people are in their communities.

Services are offered at no cost to the patient and include immunizations, tobacco cessation, medication reconciliation, health education and a variety of health screenings.

Order blueberries by June 23

Thinking of blueberry cobbler, blueberry muffins, or blueberry smoothies?  

The Ada Music Boosters is taking orders for 10 pounds of fresh blueberries at $3.20 per pound. Deadline to order is June 23. They will be delivered June 27. To order call Amy Morgan at 419-957-2125.

Drugs seized in Kenton house

Two children removed from home

The Hardin County Crime Task Force executed a search warrant at a residence in the 500 block of E. Franklin St. in Kenton on Monday night.

The search resulted in the seizure of heroin, suspected crack cocaine, prescription drugs, drug paraphernalia and $250 cash.

Two children were removed from the house and placed in the care of non-involved family members.

Charges are pending on 3 adults who were present in the house and on one adult who had been observed leaving the property.
