WAYNESFIELD - The visiting Ada volleyball team got back on track by sweeping local foe Waynesfield-Goshen in a non-league makeup match Monday evening.

The 25-18, 25-21, 25-12 win snapped a three-match losing streak and upped the Lady Bulldog overall record to 6-5. W-G fell to 3-7 with the defeat.

Senior Megan Light led Ada with 10 kills, four blocks and six digs. Senior Miranda Wills contributed five digs and five kills.

Bulldog junior Kirsten Poling dished out 22 assists, hit four kills and came up with seven digs. Sophomore Courtney Sumner came up with nine digs, smacked four kills and served three aces.

Senior Kylie Acheson hustled up seven digs, and junior Lexi White mustered up six digs.

Ada is now 2-4 on the road this season. The Bulldog reserves beat W-G to improve to 4-7. The Ada freshman team also was victorious to make it a clean sweep.

The Bulldogs (0-2 NWC) host backyard arch-rival Allen East (6-3, 1-0 NWC) Tuesday, September 22 on Senior Night.

Wills, Light, Acheson, Kiersten Cortez, Grace Allison and Leona Dalton will be the six seniors recognized before the varsity league bout with AE.

"It's going to be a tough match," said Ada third-year head coach Kyleigh Tabor. "We need to take care of the ball on our side and eliminate errors. Last year we came up (just) short in a hard-fought, back and forth five-set match."

The Mustangs rallied from a 2-1 deficit and nipped the Bulldogs 17-15 in the decisive fifth set of their 2019 grudge match at Harrod.

Ada is 4-1 at home this season, while AE is 4-2 on the road. Among recent common opponents, the Mustangs beat Waynesfield 3-1 on Sept. 5.
