The Hardin County board of elections is recruiting poll workers for the Nov. 3 general election, according to Michael Hubbell, board chair.
“We are sending letters to all clubs and organizations in Hardin County, asking for assistance in recruiting poll workers,” he said.
The county has 21 voting precincts. Two Democrats and two Republicans are required to work in each location.
Requirements for poll workers include:
• U.S. citizenship
• 18 years of age, or 17 and a high school senior and registered voter
• resident of the county where you plan to serve
• must not be running as a candidate in the election which you are working
• must not be a convicted felon.
A poll workers training class of from 2 to 3 hours is required. The election day begins for poll workers 1 ½ hours before the polls open at 6:30 a.m.
Poll workers must remain at the precinct throughout the day until the completion of paperwork and necessary procedures are completed after the polls close at 7:30 p.m.
Poll worker applications are on the Ohio board of elections website:
